With all the jubilee excitement hitting the country recently it would have been rude not to have a party of our own! This is the Rugby RSN CC class celebrating with flags, cakes and a glass of bubbly (ok, it was non alcoholic but we did have work to do!)

Well, the first term of our certificate course is over, and we think we can safely say...it was a huge success! We are now into our second term with more new students joining us all the time. If you are interested in gaining a professional qualification in traditional hand embroidery then visit the Royal School of Needlework website here for more details.
We have also run some of our own one day classes in various techniques, with more classes coming this year so check out our classes page to see what we are offering. There will be another 'Designing for embroidery' day class before the summer and if you have ever fancied trying a class in shisha mirror work, keep an eye out for 'Jewels of the Raj' dates for this coming soon! Perfect for adding a little sparkle to you work....

Thankyou to Saturdays students for taking part in the 'Big Draw' event at Rugby Library! As we stitched (in the middle of the gallery!) the public came in, around and amongst us and did some drawing, asked some questions and admired the work! Artist Morgan O'Hara led the drawing, working one of her 'live transmission' drawings of us in action. It was a great experiene with a fascinating result. Her drawing was a record of our movements throughout the whole day. This is a really interesting concept as a more conventional drawing would only capture one moment of the day.
Have a look at her website to see more about this genre of work and maybe even the actual drawing itself! www.morganohara.com
The press also visited as did the Mayor of Rugby, councillor Gwen Hotten so it was a busy day! This is Morgan and another artist drawing the class with Suzanne and Sue stitching away:
